Hello, what are the plans for implicit parameters? Will GHC continue to support them or could it be that they will be removed at some time?
I think that implicit parameters can be very useful for implementing global variables as described in <http://www.cs.chalmers.se/~rjmh/Globals.ps>. Surprisingly, the interest in implicit parameters seems to be rather low as the GHC survey from 2005 suggests. Despite this, I’d propose that support for implicit parameters continues. But what do the GHC developers think?
