Sounds familiar...minimal, almost "not there" glasses as your first choice.
Been there, done that.

Then, I discovered plastic frames...found out I like tortoise shell!!!  Here
are some pics of me, in 2 very different frames.

Once I got used to wearing glasses, I found that they added a bit of style.
And, at these prices, additional pairs of glasses are actually affordable!

I get the most compliments of any pair, from those tortoise shell ones.
