Over the last year, I've had 5 pairs...and you're right, the quality does
vary somewhat.

I've had 4191 as sunglasses...they were extremely nice, and held up very
well. 80% amber tint. Spring hinges, too.
I've had 9620 as distance glasses...they were nice, but the springy temples
felt a little bit thin and cheap. They wore comfortably, though, and my
doctor guessed $250. Looked great, on, and they're made of stainless steel.
I've had 4632 as reading glasses...they were nice, but the springy temples
felt a little bit cheap. Same as 9620 in appearance and construction, just
a different shape.
I've had 3396 as distance glasses...they are extremely nice, and very light
weight. Tons of compliments on them.
http://www.chuckknight.com/pics/plastic.jpg My all time favorites, so far.
I've had 5803 as distance glasses...they are extremely nice, and the
sunglass clip works beautifully. Lots of compliments on these, too.

Tons of glasses...one of the "benefits" of a rapidly changing prescription.
:-) All in all, no major complaints...and they held up beautifully to daily
wear.
