I just received my first pair of glasses purchased online (from Zenni optical) and wanted to share the results here.
I chose frame #7128 and ordered lenses with 80% gray tint. The total price, with shipping, was $35.85. I placed the order on April 9, and my confirmation e-mail said it should take 2 weeks for delivery, with the note that "custom suntint" may take "three to six days extra". I got an email with a USPS delivery confirmation number exactly 3 weeks from the day I ordered them saying that they had been shipped, and then two days later the glasses showed up in my mailbox. So it took 23 days from order to delivery, which is a little longer than I expected but if this is considered custom suntint then they probably came in just at the long end of the estimate. The glasses are basically as I expected them to be. There is no damage to the frame or lenses, and everything seems to be put together properly. My Rx is for cylindrical correction only (no sphere), and I can see pretty well without glasses, but the lenses in this pair of glasses seem fine, though I haven't had them measured to confirm that they are correct. The 80% gray tint is a little darker than the tint in most of the (non- prescription) sunglasses I've purchased before, and might be a bit dark for driving, but should be fine outside in bright light. If I was going to buy another pair I'd want to get one that had taller lenses, since with this pair light does come in from above the lens. I choose this frame because I thought it looked like an actual sunglasses frame, and for the most part it does, though as I said I think taller lenses would be more practical. The only gripe with the frame itself is that the "silica gel temple tip liners" are not quite glued on correctly. The inside ones are not perfectly aligned with the depression in the frame they are supposed to sit in, and one of the outer pads is coming unglued at the very tip. This isn't a big deal, however, and it's something I'm not surprised to see in a cheap pair of glasses.
