I'm considering ordering from Eyebuydirect.com but am confused about
their lens choices and which one would be best for my needs. For one,
I'm confused about what material they use to make the lenses -- CR-39
plastic or polycarbonate. In their FAQ it states they use
"lightweight CR39 and polycarbonate lenses. Our standard lens is
1.499 index. We also offer "thin and light" and "super thin" lens
upgrades which are 1.56 and 1.67, respectively." However, when you go
to the "Select Lens" option once you've chosen a frame, the material
used is not specified. It just says "Standard" (which is free) and
1.57 "thin and lite" (which costs $25). I don't think I want
polycarbonate but the site doesn't specify what is what. I said above
that I currently have polycarbonate lenses but actually I am unsure
about that. I got these glasses eight years ago and do not recall
what lens choice I made. When I went to an optician a few months ago
to look at frames, I asked him to look at my lenses and tell me if
they are plastic or polycarbonate. He looked at them for a second and
said that they are polycarbonate, so I'm only going on his word. The
lower visual acuity of polycarbonate is not something I want but if
that's truly what I have, I might be used to it.

Also, Eyebuydirect recommends their 1.5 lenses for a sphere of +/-0.25
to +/-2.50 and recommends 1.56 ($25 more) for +/-2.50 to +/-5.00.
Considering my prescription above, what should I get. The thickness
calculator difference is negligible. I appreciate your
advice.
