I'm new to this forum, but I found out about Clearly Lenz from this blog: http://kickinoff.blogspot.com/2009/04/clearly-lenz-clearly-great-deal.html. So, I decided to go ahead and order some cheap sunglasses as I wanted to check out the polarized lenses. I ordered these wayfarers: http://www.clearlylenz.com/product.asp?id=132 (don't laugh) and got them with a dark grey/black 80% tint and with polarized lens which came to $90.95 with shipping and all the add-ons. The customer service (read e-mail replies) was always positive and fairly quick. The shipping time took about 1 week and the glasses got shipped from Shanghai. I must add that the polarized lens took 3 days to process, so the total time to get shipped to me was 10 days.
For my next pair, I stepped up my game and sprung for these funky frames: http://www.clearlylenz.com/product.asp?id=181. A little bit pricey at $149, but worth every penny....at least so far. The frames are hard to describe, like a plastic film was cut out to make it and there are no screws?? My prescription is not too heavy: R: Sph. -3.25, Cyl. -1.50, Axis 10 / L: Sph. -3.50, Cyl. -1.00, Axis 165, but they said I might want to try the 1.61 lens for an additional $18, since the frame width at the side is so thin. I know that for all my other glasses, I can just use the usual CR-39 or 1.56 lens. I have measured the frame thickness to be 1mm all around. And, with the 1.61 lens, the thickest part of the lens is only 2mm, so it is un- noticeable when viewed from the side. I get so many people asking me where I got my frames, since I've never seen a style like this anywhere. But, at $177, this is not for everyone. Again, the shipment took a week and the customer service was always responsive and polite. If you ask me if they are reputable, I would have to say yes. I believe they have a 7 day guarantee, so if you make a pair and it doesn't work out, you could always send them back.
