Good eevening, I'm a bit puzzled by Linux' (Debian) reluctance to assign a UUID to /home. I even re-installed Debian with a smaller /home and I have tried all the known tools for assigning a UUID to /home. Nothing works and half the time my laptop won't boot because Linux switches the two disk assignments around (another Linux "feature"). It's odd. Setting a UUID is silently ignored and blkid also ignores the device. I tried deleting and recreating the filesystem but that didn't make any difference.
