I hope he learns about  the reason Moore's Law has produced the rapid
advances in computer power.  Also, he calls Amory Lovins an engineer,
when he started out as a physicist.  He seems to think that efficiency
can be increased forever, when it can never even reach 100%.  Also,
he's jumped on to the plugin hybrid mania, missing out on the fact that
adding those extra batteries also adds weight and reduces usable
interior space in a car.  The large SUV type vehicles are the problem,
as there is no way to make them get  mpg results like that of a smaller
car, due to weight and poor aerodynamics.

I think he is right that we won't do anything unless there is a sense
of national goal and/or crisis.  Democracy doesn't change things until
it is backed into a corner, especially when some sacrifice is involved.
 Politics as usual has been ignoring the problem for more than 30
years, from my experience.  One hot summer won't leave much of a sense
of crisis if it's followed by a unusually cold winter....
