I've been doing some googling to check whether anybody else has done
this, considering it's "trivial". I've run into the usual suspects,
Pielke, Lubos!, McKitrick. Only McKitrick got close to trying it, and
he just looked at 12 hand picked stations and monthly data. It's also
briefly broached in the deep depths of comments at climate audit.
