Hello,
I just installed GLPI, and configured LDAP authentication. I also
managed to import LDAP groups statically. However, I can't understand
how to use LDAP-defined groups to manage perms, as described at:
http://www.glpi-project.org/wiki/doku.php?id=fr:config:ldap

Permissions seems to be defined by profiles, and I couldn't see any way
to affect a profile to a group (or the reverse). All I could find was to
statically import users, then affect them a given profile, but this
doesn't scale very much...
Once your users & groups are imported into GLPI (and your users belong to the right groups), you can create Entity assignation rules. Go to Administration -> Rules -> ** <http://localhost/glpi072/front/rule.right.php>Entity and rights assignment rules

Then creates rules like this one :
Criteria :
Groups LDAP is XXX
Action :
Assign : Profile YYY

Walid.
