I am trying to figure out why the GLPI backup (Setup->Maintenance) is so
extremely slow...

Doesn't help much, I am already running a nightly mysqldump, and it is an
order of magnitude smaller than the backup created by GLPI, and it
completes much faster.
Why does the GLPI backup take so long, and become so big? Also, I turned
on compression for the backups, but none of the compressed backups are
showing up in the backup list, although I can see the files under
/var/lib/glpi/files/_dumps
