We have an APC Symmetra UPS that takes large, expensive battery packs (approximately 500 USD each). I'm trying to decide whether to inventory these as devices or as consumables. These packs are programmed for replacement every three years, so I'm inclined to list them as consumables. It would really be great if I could attach a consumable battery to a device (the APC UPS).
