I had the same questions and basically because of the fact that RedHeat
moved their resources out of the project the progress seems slower, but
if you check GitHub there is some.
In https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs is also a 11.2 release including
Trixie.
The problem is that the people seem not having access to the original
webpage and/or Package repo right now so these can not be updated.
So I also have still the question what to use and how for Debian 13 and
if the "latest official packages" from 2 years ago are making sense or
are working.
But when I see https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs/issues/4607 it seems
like they have issues (but can be workaround).
General "where are packaged and how" discussion is in
https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs/issues/4599
The discussions about 11.x in
https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs/discussions/4587 and
https://github.com/gluster/glusterfs/discussions/4606 are also not
having too many information ...
I would be happy about info on "is 11.x working good in production" in
general ... and then yes next step also about Trixie :-)

Good morning,
yeah, the package numbers seem to be identical, same version.
debian 12:
https://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/glusterfs/LATEST/Debian/12/amd64/apt/pool/main/g/glusterfs/glusterfs-common_11.1-1_amd64.deb
debian 13:
https://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/glusterfs/LATEST/Debian/13/amd64/apt/pool/main/g/glusterfs/glusterfs-common_11.1-1_amd64.deb
Just curious about the a bit outdated built date, almost 2 years ago.
Well, maybe spin up a tiny cluster and do a test upgrade: debian first
(keeping the installed packages) and then "upgrade" the gluster
packages bookworm -> trixie.
Thx & best regards,
Hubert

Hi Hubert,
Looking at the package numbers it appears that the new packages are the same as
the old? So no problems, I expect. But as you say, nothing happening in the
glusterfs project for a long time :-/ .

Hi there,
it has been really quiet the last months... anyway: has anyone using
debian and gluster upgraded from v12 bookworm to v13 trixie?
https://download.gluster.org/pub/gluster/glusterfs/LATEST/Debian/13/amd64/apt/pool/main/g/glusterfs/
The packages are there, but with a pretty old date - almost 2 years. I
changed the line in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/gluster.list from bookworm
to trixie, did an apt update to see what happens.
apt list --upgradeable shows:
glusterfs-client/unknown 11.1-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 11.1-1]
glusterfs-common/unknown 11.1-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 11.1-1]
libfcgi-bin/oldstable,oldstable 2.4.2-2+deb12u1 amd64 [upgradable from: 2.4.2-2]
libfcgi0ldbl/oldstable,oldstable 2.4.2-2+deb12u1 amd64 [upgradable
from: 2.4.2-2]
libgfapi0/unknown 11.1-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 11.1-1]
libgfchangelog0/unknown 11.1-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 11.1-1]
libgfrpc0/unknown 11.1-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 11.1-1]
libglusterfs0/unknown 11.1-1 amd64 [upgradable from: 11.1-1]
So the packages are available, no error messages. Has anyone tried the
upgrade yet?
Best regards,
Hubert
