When you "Move to Inbox", the message also remains in Sent Mail. (Sent Mail is not really a folder; it is a search for any message written by you.) If you aren't finding it in Sent Mail, then either the message was deleted or sent to Spam. Those are the only two actions that can make a message disappear from Sent Mail.
