While I was out tonight, I got a notification on my phone that my Gmail and related Google accounts password was changed (7 PM). I was in a place with horrible reception, so I thought maybe it was just the device (Motorola Razr).
When I got signal again, I tried to log in and it didn't accept my password. However, I checked my alternate email and I didn't receive any notification that the password was changed on there. From my phone, I updated my password (9 PM). When I got home a few minutes later, I logged on to my laptop. My Gmail only had one notification for a new password (9 PM). It didn't have any notifications for when the first incident may or may note have changed (7 PM). In addition, my alternate email and phone only got notifications for the 9 PM password change. Is it possible for hackers to get into an account and change the password and NOT send notification to the alternate methods (alternate email + phone)? Or could it have possibly just been my device and I unnecessarily changed my password? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Gmail-Users" group.
