I use both Windows 8.1 and Gmail. I always stay in the Desktop mode, I think that's the correct term for the mode that looks like previous versions of Windows. When I am on a wb page, if there is a link to click that will send someone an email if I click it I am taken the the full page Windows 8.1 version of email app with my Gmail set up there. I do not want to go directly to the Win 8.1 side. Rather I would like it to bring up the conventional Gmail web page (as in previous Windows versions). How can I configure Windows to act in this manner?
