This thread was about receiving strange messages, not about sending them. But in your case, the problem appears to be the messages being sent. Were you sending so many emails? It looks to me like there is a fair chance that someone else knows your password and has been using your Gmail account to mass-send tons of spam, and that's why they disabled your account.
