Signing in/out in this sense relates to your Google account.
The 'stay signed in' checkbox means that when you open Gmail, it simply
opens to your Inbox without asking for anything.
When you enable 2-step, you will have to enter your password, and then also
the 2-step code. If you check both 'stay signed in' and then also 'trust
this computer' then it will work as before.
