My laptop PC uses Windows10. I access my old version Gmail & Contacts via
Firefox browser. (I like the old version Gmail & contacts as it shows more
data lines per screen & allows me to code my contacts to my preferences
better.)
I have thousands of contacts which I've sorted into hundreds of groups over
the past many years. My Gmail contact Groups have been empty since Nov 18.
I've tried the Restore option several times for lengthening periods up to 1
week. Each Restore did not work. When a Restore didn't work, I Undid the
Restore command each time to make sure I didn't lose my latest contact
changes. I then accessed my Gmail account on a Mac, the Groups were empty
there as well & the Restore option didn't work for there either.

I had made several software changes that week on my PC laptop, including
deleting Webroot & installing Advira antivirus, installing Google Chrome,
and enduring the Windows 10/Edge monster updates. But since my Groups were
empty on the unchanged Mac as well, I don't think the problem is in my
software setups, but rather from the Gmail side.

I've gve this same issue to the Gmail Product Help forum to look at last
week, with 0 results. My Gmail Product Help forum searches have revealed
this problem has occurred to other users over the last few years since at
least 2010, but I didn't find any fixes posted.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use Windows10
I access Gmail thru Firefox, with no apps.
I use old version Gmail with its contained Contacts.
