The easiest workaround I've found is to add the Google "Bookmarklet" to my favorites toolbar. Then I just have to click that to add a bookmark, and when GMarks syncs (manually or auto), it will be available in GMarks. To add the bookmarklet, go to https://www.google.com/bookmarks/, then scroll to the bottom, and it's there. You can drag it up to your toolbar to add it.
