My svn version was from june this year, and the nodes didn't fit even when starting from a geo file. Now, after downloading the latest svn version, they do. So it was a bug which is fixed.

When starting form a msh file, it is not always the case, as not all the information is available. My version of Gmsh, 2.5.1, svn built today does in both cases a refining with meshing order 2 (curvilinear on), what was not the case some months ago.... HTH, Ruth -- Dr. Ir. Ruth V. For (curved) lines, they do not lie on the line, whereas the nodes produced by the first mesh run do. Bug or feature?
