Yes, the first frame only is sufficient for my needs and everything else
I've seen.
Another option would be a parameter to specify the frame you want to
save, and default to the first frame.

Also very easy. It's possible to create a new "GUI" using AGG which
just creates a in-memory buffer where AGG can render in. This buffer
can then be further processed (ie. written to a file).
But what do you want to achieve? Save the first frame only?
