As Sandro points out on the bug report (which is a good place to track this!), the fact that the parser causes a blocking read when it wants more data shouldn't itself cause the youtube player to wait. It is probably incorrectly sending an ActionScript buffer event when the buffer is still full enough, and that may be the actual bug.
