This one, at least, is partially because of the Javascript library not
recognising gnash as Flash:

Is there any chance that Google could extend the hack they use to
detect Gnash on YouTube, so that the patch to fix this could be
applied?  I assume it would be possible for them to also serve up AVM1
if a fake mimetype were detected.
