No, it is not a satanic symbol nor a symbol of any other cult or religion,
and it does not represent Saturn [2]. In this case, it seems that you see
what you want to see.

gNewSense is about free software as defined by the Free Software
Foundation, not about Satanism.

There is no need to do that. I designed the current logo [2] and also
worked in a modification of the previous tree logo [3]. Both logos are just
vector graphics with some forms. The former represents a radio telescope
(like Parkes) and a planet, as Sam said; the latter is a tree, a gnu and a
person.

P.S.: I don't practice Satanism nor any other religion.
