Sure. There might also be some issues that don't have an open bug report. E.g. Icedove is still in the needsclean section of Ucclia's debderiver filter [1]. The bug was reported for gNewSense 3 [2]. You could duplicate the bug report for gNewSense 4 and port Parkes' patch over to Ucclia. Working on other bugs is fine too. [1] Savannah's bzr is down, so I don't have the link handy.
