This is a package that optionally sends information about most-used
packages to a developer address. It is installed by default, but
disabled. However, the address is currently set to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] . I made a builder script to change ubuntu to
${DISTRONAME_L} everywhere. Really, there should be a separate variable
for domain name (maybe there is). On that note, can gnewsense.com be
forwarded to gnewsense.org?... The script's attached.

I'd appreciate feedback.

Quote from aptitude show popularity-contest

"
When you install this package, it sets up a cron job that will
anonymously submit statistics about your most used packages periodically
to the developers.

This information helps us make decisions such as which packages should
be promoted and so be in standard installs.
