Blocking content is a Very slippery slop for distro to get into especially one that is about Freedom. gNewSense doesn't Block Youtube or Tweeter content. The Distro just doesn't support the proprietary formats used on those sites. (I'm guessing Tweeter is Flash or AbodeAir based.) gNewSense is about Freedom, not Privacy. The two are separate tho related issues. If the Dev's make sure that gNewSense is built with only 100% free (as in speech) software then they are doing their job and doing it well. The matter of privacy is best left to the individual user (IMHO). Perhaps a "Privacy" section could be started in the Wiki detailing things people can do while using gNewSense to help ensure/promote their privacy. (I'd be happy to start it if there is an interest in it.). If you are worried about Google and privacy you probably shouldn't be using any Google properties. (one of the reasons I'm decommissioning my gmail account). I feel the subject of privacy is to diverse and to personal for gNewSense to make a mandate and doing so would detract too much time and focus from the mandate of 100% Libre. For clarity sake let me state that I am not a gNewSense Dev. Nor am I in any way attached to the gNewSense project. The statements above are meant to reflect my opinions only.
