Do the accounting for the donations including tax related stuff. The person who need to check the rate of donations vs the rate of fees + accounting + Webadmin (to make sure the button works right.. is on the site, is up to date, etc) is in the black and not the red. and other factors that I'm sure I've neglected to consider. Dev's want to develop, not manage finances. > > Anyway, I don't work for Flattr nor do I have any ulterior motive - > I'm just throwing out an idea that I thought could help gNS. I think right now (tho I cant speak for the gNS community) what is needed more then cash is participation. Things like packaging, testing, hacking, contribution to the wiki, translating gNS materials so persons in non-english countries have better access to it, etc. I'm guessing that right now these have a bigger impact then financial donations. Unless you were talking about a lump sum of several millions to hire the Dev's for the project full time + the admin staff + some nice computer infra structure. :) I don't think that the Dev's are dismissing your idea out of hand. It probably just isn't what is really needed at this point and Dev's want to develop not do Admin stuff. just my 2 cents on the issue Regards, Freemor -- free...@fastmail.fm This e-mail has been digitally signed with GnuPG - ( http://gnupg.org/ )
