I would like to know why is it that there are those architectures available for metad and are being continually updated?

metad was meant to be the next gNewSense release (with support for i686, amd64 and mipsel), but that didn't work out. The repositories for those architectures are still available and updated to not leave people who already installed it in the cold. No work is being done on the non-mipsel parts.

Why is that the yeeloong is not advertised as supported on the front
page?

We only have metad for the Yeeloong now. It's not exactly unsupported (because the Yeeloong is an important platform for free computing), but it's not a full release either (metad has always been advertised as beta). That's why we don't make a big deal about it.
