I was looking through their libraries and was unable to locate one which might be useful for Travis. However, there has been some discussion on the OOo list regarding command line switches as well as file converters. There is apparently an XML project for file conversions. But, as you mentioned, right now it probably is not trivial. Even if Travis installed the xlibs, I was unable to find a way in OpenOffice to do read and save a document from the command line.
