The iwconfig(8) command lets you fiddle with the wireless parameters. It is part of the "wireless-tools" package on my Red Hat 7.3 system, if that helps any. The "/etc/pcmcia/wireless.opts" file is used by the PCMCIA automation scripts to feed things to iwconfig(8) when a card is inserted. Ask your network dudes: - Are they using 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, or Something Else(TM). I'm pretty sure the card you describe is 11b only, but let's be sure. - What is the SSID? - Are you using WEP (Worthless Encryption Protocol, AKA Wireless Equivalent Privacy)? If so, what is the key? Make sure you don't have any routes via gateways that don't exist. ;-) -- Ben Scott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do | | not represent the views or policy of any other person or organization. | | All information is provided without warranty of any kind. | _______________________________________________ gnhlug-discuss mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss
