FYI, the magic words to use with the operator are "annoyance call bureau". Or at least, they were when I had a problem with some random jerk making annoying phone calls. Google seems to indicate the proper phrase is "unlawful call bureau" now. I never found out who was calling me, but the calls stopped. As Travis and others have said, it is generally *not* possible to get the phone number if it does not show up on CID. Telcos are the original "common carrier", and have a number of protections against that kind of thing. Unless you know J. Edgar Hoover personally, I wouldn't even bother. -- Ben Scott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do | | not represent the views or policy of any other person or organization. | | All information is provided without warranty of any kind. | _______________________________________________ gnhlug-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss
