Looks like the expected behavior of autofs. It wants to own the root of any tree it's managing. This is also why you can't use the typical auto.home on a system that has any content already in /home. > The goal is that I don't want any of the files in /usr/local to be > eclipsed. Have viasat automounted somewhere else, then link to it from /usr/local.
