DVI with decryption capabilities.  HD signas can be encrypted end to end to the television.

Not sure about VGA ports, but I was under the impression that a lot of
HDTVs have DVI ports, though most of the ones I've seen are labeled as
"DVI with copy protection", so I have no idea what the specifics are
there.
