I installed wireshark and WinPCAP-4.0-beta on my WinXP VM machine and connected to the modem.. It had no PPP problems and didn't get disconnected. So clearly it's a software/configuration problem and not a hardware problem. Here's the PPP pcap log of the connection. Anyone around with enough PPP clue to help me compare this pcap log to the linux ppp debug log and maybe help me figure out what the heck Linux is doing differently than windows that causes the LCP Disconnect from the modem to me? I'm wondering if it's CBCP? Maybe I need a newer version of PPP? I've currently got 2.4.2-6.2.1 on FC5; I can try building the FC6 version which I believe that CBCP support.... Suggestions? -derek
