I'll just post here what I wrote on Slashdot: It's grandstanding. The FCC was saying this a month ago: http://blog.bfccomputing.com/articles/2007/04/20/fcc-comissioner- michael-copps-my-hero When you have the people and the FCC saying the same thing and the legislature hasn't done squat (or anti-squat: http://blog.bfccomputing.com/articles/2006/02/02/200-billion- broadband-scandal ) then the legislature has to grandstand and "somebody" has to be to blame. Actually, there are very good economic development reasons to see broadband penetration climb over the current 65-75%. Maybe somebody told the dems they'd get more tax money if the economy was stimulated. Ben's gonna kill me for bringing up taxes on this list. ;) -Bill ----- Bill McGonigle, Owner Work: 603.448.4440 BFC Computing, LLC Home: 603.448.1668 [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cell: 603.252.2606 http://www.bfccomputing.com/ Page: 603.442.1833 Blog: http://blog.bfccomputing.com/ VCard: http://bfccomputing.com/vcard/bill.vcf _______________________________________________ gnhlug-discuss mailing list gnhlug-discuss@mail.gnhlug.org http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss/
