Oh, hell, we could do that before. You just had to lie and tell tech support it was a Windows server. QuickBooks is entirely file-share based. You could serve it off a Palm Pilot as long as it had an SMB server. All they're really saying here is their support won't hang up on you. I've dealt with Intuit support before; I'm not sure that's an improvement. I'm still waiting for someone with Clue about accounting to take a look at Quasar Accounting from Linux Canada Inc. It's a small business accounting package similar in concept to QuickBooks. Real client/server database. Runs on Windows *and* Linux. Released under the GPL, so it's real Free(dom) Software. I was able to test and confirm that it ran on a Linux server, talking to 'nix and 'doze clients, but I know nothing about accounting, so it was all FORTRAN to me. And, of course, their website is down right now. ~sigh~ http://www.linuxcanada.com/ -- Ben _______________________________________________ gnhlug-discuss mailing list gnhlug-discuss@mail.gnhlug.org http://mail.gnhlug.org/mailman/listinfo/gnhlug-discuss/
