Right, but by that rational, when I'm on farm-519 and I 'ping -b 10.95.255.255', and assuming all hosts on that /16 subnet are configure similarly (such that /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts == 1) shouldn't I see no response at all ? I can almost guarantee that all hosts have this set, as it's the default for the kernel we're running.
