  Alternative: If all areas needed have IP network coverage, you can
get "IP extenders" compatible with most PA/speaker systems.  If they
don't already have IP coverage, 802.11 gear is cheap COTS, and now you
have a network you can use for other things.

  Whether or not this is easier/cheaper/better than anything else is
left up to the reader.
