Jerry,

I think this is pre-mature. We have nothing at all planned at this
point. My e-mail to gnhlug list volunteering to get the room at
Martha's was strictly so those interested in getting together to
discuss what might be done could do easily and conveniently.

The people who are interested in activism will show up. They are by
far a minority on that mailing list, vocal as heck to be sure, but
still a minority. To change the quarterly meeting to such a topic at
this point would IMO, only accomplish to discourage those not overtly
interested in the political side of things from coming to the
quarterly meeting. Additionally, those who only plan for X number of
meetings per month/year/etc. would come *because* it is a quarterly
meeting, but have little interest other than just voicing opinions.

Though those opionions are valuable, for this type of action, I don't
think those interested in planning/taking action items would
necessarilly be interested in the distractions it would create,
especially if the holders of those opinions are not interested enough
to actually take responsibility for any of the recommended actions.

I recommend that the quarterly meeting go forward as planned.
Anything else that's comes up aside from the quarterly meetings will
have a separate meeting until such time as there is either enough
information or activity to inform the rest of GNHLUG about.
(besides, the discussion will all likely be taking place on the
mailing list, so everyone is going to be informed more than they
probably want to be anyway :)
