All,

Since Ben and I made the announcement and "opened" registration we have
seen exactly four registrations, including those of Ben and myself.
That means that two people have registered for the install fest on the
31st, and none from the school.

I am beginning to wonder if we miscalculated the market, or whether we
miscalculated the audience, or whether we just have reached saturation
point with the number of people on our list.

I say "miscalculate the market" because if you take a look at this:

http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9698010-1.html

there are now a whole bunch of boxes out there which are "turn key" and
do much the same thing as MythTV, albeit with a proprietary box and
having to pay for a service, whereas ours is "free", but you have to
dedicate a considerable amount of hardware and "effort" (as opposed to
just going down to Bust-buy) and buying "a unit".

Compare this to the number of ham radio operators who actually build
their own radios, versus the number of hams that "just like to talk" and
buy their rigs, versus the number of people who bought CBs a while back
versus the number of AM/FM radios and you get to see some of my drift.
We are kind of trying to get the AM/FM radio people to build their own
Ham rigs. Don't spend too much time on the analogy.

I will send out another "tickler" and see if we can get more people to
register for the 31st.
