Speaking of getting a sound card working..........
My Yamaha OPL3-SAx soundcard is detected fine by sndconfig and works for most
everything I want it to do, the only problem is I can't seem to play midi files.
When I try 'playmidi somemidifile.mid' I get:
playmidi: No playback device found.
If I do something like 'cat somemidifile.mid > /dev/midi0' I get
mpu401: Device not initialized properly
at bootup i get this message:
opl3: I/O port 0x388 already in use
i'm not sure if that has to do with the midi device or if its just some message
that doesn't matter
I have no clue what exactly might be the problem or where to go from here.
Anyone got any ideas?
