   I didn't follow the typical RealPlayer download and install, since
RealPlayer is packaged as a *.deb file, but I do recall having to go into
Netscape and manually set up Netscape (Edit -> Preferences -> Navigator ->
Apps) so that it would recognize *.rm files and fire off RealPlayer.  Did
your install patch in entries into Netscape's Preferences?

   My RealPlayer has a little slider gizmo for volume on the left side of
the player.
