To add some detail to this question, here's some relevant info:

df of those partitions from the server:
/dev/hda1 9747848 4294348 4958324 46% /home/ftp/pub
/dev/hdc1 19696192 9631404 9064276 52% /home/ftp/pub/linux/debian

   /etc/exports from the server:
/home/ftp/pub salome(rw)
/home/ftp/pub/linux/debian salome(rw)

I'd like to mount that tree on the client, and if I do a standard mount
on /home/ftp/pub I can't get to the debian subdir, getting the fh_verify
error I mentioned in a previous post.

If I try to mount both partitions on the client I get an error telling me
"mount: spartacus.golgotha.net:/home/ftp/pub/linux/debian failed, reason
given by server: Permission denied".

I've tried playing with the hide/nohide option to /etc/exports, but it
hasn't done the trick. Heck, even making /etc/exports' debian subdir ro
doesn't do it.

I'd love to hear anyone's suggestions (foolish or not) on a way to tackle
this.
