  I think you need to point the installer to the 'RedHat' directory of the
i386 RPMS CD-ROM (or an image thereof).  If that does not work, try the root
of the CD.  Note: Simply feeding it a directory full of RPMs will *not* work.  
You need the files on the distribution CD-ROM.
