  The TARDIS would be what you call the, ahem, "phone booth".  It was
actually capable of changing its appearance.

  The special effects in Dr. Who were actually fairly hi-tech when it
premiered.  That was before color TV, though.

  Besides, the Doctor had a sonic screwdriver, which is the obvious
evolutionary result of the Leatherman.  He has crazy hair.  He fixed
technology by hitting it.  Obviously, he's a sysadmin.  ;-)
