Some SCO info of interest to the Linux market place, I wasn't as aware of these as I should have been: 1997 - SCO lead the market and shipped 47% of all Unix licenses sold. (doesn't count Linux except for actual copies of install media :-) ) SCO has changed its name to tarantella SCO's UNIX operations were essentially sold to/acquired by Caldera and are now sold and serviced by Caldera. Free licenses of SCO OpenServerTM and UnixWare 7 operating systems are available with the restriction that they be used for personal and noncommercial use. SCO has shipped over 120,000 SCO OpenServer Release 5 and UnixWare 7 free licenses. So does SCO plan to become the Linux alternative, giving away licenses and selling support ? Might work, but they will have a much smaller development team. :-) -- Jeff Kinz, Emergent Research, Hudson, MA. Email may contain words incorrectly generated by Speech Recognition software.
