I helped install an early version of Solaris at UMass/Boston, back when
it was brand new. We had a long-running community rant about how 
"broken" it was -- where "broken" in that context really meant non-BSD.
Ah, the innocent, carefree days of youth... :-).

In any case, I left the school around 1987.
