It doesn't even have to leave your machine to be noticeable. In DB_Maker, I originally queried a radio button in the iteration procedure (Check_One) when searching, and it could only check about 11 records/second with the program and the browser running on the same machine. Searching 300 records for a value near the end (or not in the list) took forever. Getting the value once outside the procedure made the search as fast as expected.
